.380 ACP pistol cartridge. Used in select pistols and SMGs. In-game description
.380 ACP Rounds are a type of ammunition in DayZ.
Overview[]
.380 ACP Rounds are a low-power pistol cartridge, used in the IJ-70 pistol, as well as the Bizon, CR-61 Scorpion, and RAK-37 submachine guns.
They are found boxed, loose or pre-loaded in magazines. A box of .380 contains 35 rounds.
Performance[]
As a low-power pistol cartridge, .380 ACP is inherently short-ranged, and performs best against unarmored targets. Its performance quickly degrades as distance increases, making it useful only at up to 100m, but, given the poor accuracy of SMG platforms, the realistic limit is somewhere between 50~70m.
The cartridge is subsonic when fired from the IJ-70, and the RAK-37, but just barely supersonic when fired from the CR-61 or the Bizon.
This characteristic makes the .380 ACP highly desirable for use with suppressors, as the bullet crack is eliminated on the IJ-70, and minimal on the CR-61 and Bizon. (Crack is only audible up to 25m and 75m respectively.)

Trivia[]
- Before 0.63, the .380 ACP Rounds were named .380 Auto Rounds.
- In real life, .380 ACP Rounds are also commonly named .380 Auto, 9×17mm, or 9mm Browning. The .380 Auto is shorter than a 9×19mm round and therefore has a lower weight, velocity, and energy in ballistic performance in comparison.
