2 x 30Rnd STANAG magazine coupled together. — In-game description

The 30rd Coupled Standardized Mag is a firearm magazine for the M4-A1 in DayZ Standalone.

The 30rd Coupled Standardized Mag is a 60 round magazine for the M4-A1 assault rifle. Giving the highest capacity of all mags for the M4-A1 and the second highest in the game, just behind the 75rd KA-M Drum Mag. Given the size and round count of the 30rd Coupled Standardized Mag, it will be slightly heavier and takes up slightly more space in your inventory.

Giving far more bullets to fire at other survivors, this magazine is highly sought after in PVP, especially when raiding bases and attacking squads of survivors. It can only be found at Helicopter crash sites.

  • This magazine is always in the queue when you hold R to reload. Meaning if you reload holding R this magazine is the one you’ll put into the M4-A1. This magazine DOES NOT need to be reloaded after 30 bullets have been fired, it counts as a 60 round magazine for the M4-A1.

  • Two 30Rnd STANAG magazines coupled together using a metal magazine clamp to enable quick and fluid reloading. Many soldiers as an alternative to using proper magazine clamps will use tape to couple magazines together.
  • The in-game version of this method of coupling is incorrect and impossible, as the object acts as a single 60 round magazine, rather than two magazines with 30 rounds and a short reload time.
