Overview[ | ]

The ATOG 4x32 Scope is a telescopic Sight with an illuminated reticle for the SG5-K, USG-45, M4-A1, Pioneer, SVAL and LAR in DayZ. The ATOG 4x32 Scope provides a reduction to the weapon's dispersion cone, increasing the overall accuracy of the weapon. It also provides additional zeroing ranges, allowing the survivor to make more accurate shots at longer ranges. The illuminated reticle on the ATOG 4x32 Scope does not require a battery, making the ATOG 4x32 Scope the only illuminated scope in DayZ that doesn't require one.

With update 1.13, they added a 6x ATOG scope with a backup red dot sight. This variant is named ATOG 6x48 Scope

Range Finding with the ATOG 4x32 Scope[ | ]

The ATOG features several marked lines in the reticle which act as both rangefinders and bullet drop aim points.

The lines, when placed over the shoulders of a standing adult target, show the approximate distance from the shooter to the target. The line below the center crosshair denotes 200 m, the next 300 m, then 400 m, and so on. The 600 m line is not visible when the ATOG is mounted on the M4-A1, as the front sight post covers it.

When the distance is known, the reticle's lines also work as bullet drop compensators. Assuming the sight has been manually zeroed to 100 m, the rangefinder lines correspond to bullet drop. Therefore, at a 400 m distance, the round will land on the 400 m line in the reticle. If the optic is zeroed to 400 m, the center crosshair point will be the point of impact. It should be noted that this only applies in relation to the ATOG Optic when used on the M4-A1 and the Pioneer, as the ATOG is ballistically calibrated specifically to 5.56mm ammunition.

In the case of using the ATOG Optic on the SG5-K, USG-45, SVAL or the LAR, the above does not hold true, as the 9mm, .45ACP, 9x39mm and .308 cartridges have different ballistic properties. This means the lower markers of the ATOG Optic cannot necessarily be used as an accurate indicator for bullet drop with these weapons.
