Weapon Attachments are used in DayZ Standalone to enhance a weapon. These attachments fill multiple roles, but include increased stability, sound mitigation, and optical enhancement. If you find an attachment, it will have an item condition like every other thing in the game. For example, if you find a PU Scope attachment, with an item condition of Damaged, it will have cracks in its lenses. If the item has a condition that is greater than Worn, it will not have any cracks.
