A roll of non-sterile gauze bandage. Can be used to directly stop the bleeding, but can also be used other ways. — In-game description

Bandages are a key medical item in DayZ Standalone. A basic, but extremely important item, Bandages are used to stop blood loss from open wounds sustained when a survivor is injured. Bandages can spawn almost anywhere but, can most frequently be found inside of First Aid Pouches. Nurse infected may carry a Bandage in their inventory.

Bandages Now have the quickest bandage timer, roughly 2-3 seconds to heal a wound.

Application

Survivors that are bleeding, indicated in the Blood UI icon, desaturation of a player's screen color and in-game as a stream of blood gushing from a player, only need to take the Bandages into their hands and then press and hold the Use (PC Default: Left mouse button) key.

Bandaging is a continuous action, taking about 4 seconds to complete, so the player will need to continue holding down the use key until the action completes or their character will stop the bandaging action. Addtionally, survivors with multiple open wounds will need to bandage each one to stop the blood loss completely.

Players can also bandage other survivors as well. Both players will need to remain stationary until the action is finished in order for the bandaging to complete successfully.
