The Beached Container is a type of random, dynamic event introduced in the DayZ Frostline expansion.

General[]

The Beached Container (Also referred to as the "Special Container" or "Dynamic Container") are similar in appearance to military containers, but have a blue camo (See: Orel police clothing) paint pattern and are only found washed up on the shores of the islands of Sakhal.

Prior to 1.27 the containers could be looted by simply opening the unlocked doors. The update added locks on doors of the containers which are color-coded, and require a container key of the same color in order to unlock. Unlocking the doors allows the survivor to access the loot inside. Attempting to unlock a container with the wrong key color will ruin the container key.

Loot[]

Similar to helicopter crash sites and military convoys, the loot found in Beached Containers contain is flagged as dynamic event loot, which overrides area-specific tier ratings. This means that all containers have a chance of containing some of the game's most sought-after loot regardless of which island they spawn on. Under vanilla settings, the containers are the only source of the M16-A2, M4-A1, AK-101, and the tactical helmet.
