Assorted bones. There's no telling what - or who - they belonged to. In-game description
Bones are a type of resource in DayZ. Bones can be obtained from skinning and quartering any wildlife or dead survivors. Bones can be used to craft improvised weapons and tools (see below).
Bones are very useful for fresh spawns, as a bone knife can be used as an early cutting and worm digging tool, and fishing hooks can be utilised with a fishing rod early to fill up on early game calories. Even human bones can be extremely useful as their use does not cause Brain Prion Disease, only human steak and human fat can do that.
