A portable chainsaw. It is used in activities such as tree felling, limbing, bucking, pruning, by tree surgeons to fell trees and remove branches and foliage, to fell snags and assist in cutting firebreaks in wildland fire suppression, and to harvest firewood. The Chainsaw is a piece of equipment in DayZ Standalone.

General

It can be used for approximately one minute before running out of fuel. It can be refilled using a Gasoline Canister. The chainsaw can be used to quickly cut down trees and bushes. Only one swing of the saw is needed to drop a tree, in contrast to an axe which needs four or more swings.

As a melee weapon, one hit from a chainsaw does serious damage -- even if it is turned off.
