Clothing

In DayZ Standalone, Clothing refers to any equipment, fabric, or material that a player's character can wear on his or her person for visual and/or protective purposes. Certain types of clothing are typically only found in areas appropriate to that specific type of clothing (e.g., military clothing in military areas); some articles of clothing can only be obtained through crafting them.

Clothing Stats

Almost all clothing in DayZ Standalone provides some type of benefit to the wearer and incoming damage. Below are descriptions of each type of stat associated with clothing, which should help you make an informed decision about what to wear based on your needs.

Stat	Description
Size	The amount of space required to fit the item into the player's inventory.
Capacity	How much storage space and which attachment slots the clothing has.
Weight	How heavy the clothing is.
Quickbar bonus	How many extra quick bar slots this item adds.
Durability	Maximum health of the item.
Maximum wetness	How much water the clothing will absorb if it gets wet. Wetness of an item impacts its weight, and its insulation effectiveness: 5% - 25%  Damp  : 1.0x weight, 90% insulation 25% - 50%  Wet  : 1.33x weight, 75% insulation 50% - 80%  Soaked  : 1.66x weight, 50% insulation 80% - 100%  Drenched  : 2.0x weight, 0% insulation
Insulation	How much heat the clothing item helps retain. Insulation value is affected by the item's current wetness state and condition.
Protection
Health	Reduces damage to health.
Blood	Reduces the chance of bleeding.
Shock	Reduces the amount of shock from damage.
There are three types of incoming damage (affecting clothing): Projectile, Melee and Infected. Each of above-mentioned damage types falls into three areas of impact on a player's health: Health, Blood and Shock.

Clothing Slots

A player's character has 11 slots available for clothing. Each slot corresponds to a part of the player character's body and allows for a specific type of clothing to be worn there. The slots are:
