A metal pot. Used for different cooking techniques involving fire. Result depends on ingredients used. In-game description

The Cooking Pot is used in a variety of methods to prepare food for consumption (visit Cooking for detailed instructions). Taking up 12 inventory slots while at the same time providing 12 inventory slots of its own even when full of drinkable water allows you to carry it without actually giving up any inventory space. It can also be used as a melee weapon.

It is able to contain up to 2000 ml of liquid (typically water); twice as much as Plastic Bottle, but also takes up four times as much inventory space as that item. It can, however, simultaneously hold water and 12 slots worth of items which increases the weight of the item.

In addition to finding a Cooking Pot as regular loot item, it can also be acquired by fishing in fresh water.

Note: Items that are added to the Cooking Pot inventory while the Cooking Pot is also filled with water, will become wet.

Durability[ | ]

With the 1.17 update came the addition of durability to the Cooking Pot, the Frying Pan, the Cauldron and the 2 stands the Campfire Tripod, and the Cooking Stand. All use durability at a rate of 0.0625 per second when over any kind of fire wither it be a fireplace or gas stove. You can cook things without water baking the food items put in at the cost of losing some of the nutritional value of said food item over roasting them in a Frying Pan. For fruits and vegetables you lose 20%, and Meats lose 10% of their nutritional value.

This means with a durability of 200 the Cooking Pot will go from Pristine to ruined when used over a flame for a total of 53 Minutes, and 20 Seconds.

As of version 1.19, the cooking pot, along with other cookware, can be repaired using the Blowtorch with an attached Gas Canister.
