DayZ Frostline is an upcoming paid expansion for DayZ, announced on 9th May 2024. It is the first expansion for the game, and the second paid DLC to be released. The expansion is intended as a harsher survival experience compared to the base game maps.

New Terrain[ | ]
The map, Sakhal, will be based on a group of islands just north of Japan and in far eastern Russia, featuring a volcano, frozen lakes and ice shelves, hot springs, and over 400 unique assets such as buildings and points of interest. Sakhal will be about 105 square kilometers, DayZ's smallest map.
Winter landscape[ | ]
One very important difference from Chernarus or Livonia is the snowy landscape. Sakhal will feature varying amounts of snow depending on elevation and area alongside frosted trees and snow-covered rocks.
Harsher survival[ | ]
Some major features have been revamped due to the colder environment. DayZ Frostline will feature frozen foods that can be warmed up using fireplaces (similar to drying clothes), fishing will no longer be a viable option inland due to frozen lakes, and overall a colder climate will require fires to be started far more often to survive the harsher weather. Eating snow can induce Heavy Metal Poisoning, a new illness found in Sakhal.
Richer wilderness[ | ]
A few new animals have been added to Sakhal, including the Reindeer, and expanded aquatic life with the Steelhead Trout, Shrimp and Pollock. The 1.26 update also previewed the re-added Hare and Fox.
Winter Cosmetics[ | ]
DayZ Frostline has introduced a variety of new winter clothes; including warmer jackets, new winter variants of existing clothing, new clothing sets, and a wolf's head as a hat.
Pricing[ | ]
The Frostline DLC is a paid expansion and is expected to cost under $30. The DLC will be available on all platforms; PC, Xbox and Playstation.
