Removed links[]
I have removed the links forum this page [1]. For the most part the list is incomplete and riddled with outdated links. I think this page could better be used as "Community portal" i.e. Community resource for the editors of this wiki. If we need a list of sites related to dayz, please start a new page. --AnotherArk (talk) 08:27, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
Layout/content[]
I have added some basic resources that might be useful for new and veteran editors. I was using The_Vault:Community_portal as an inspiration. Obviously our page is still in a very rough shape, so feel free to add and improve it to fit our needs. --AnotherArk (talk) 10:27, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- nice work--TheBlackDracula (talk)
- I think that everyone has something to contribute, and it would be a shame that they couldn't do it because we don't offer them the tools. --AnotherArk (talk) 17:18, 9 November 2014 (UTC)

Duplicate entries in the semantic database[]
We did a partial rebuild of the database to erase the previous duplicate entries, but somehow Mod:Revolver has already managed to glitch and create new duplicates, as can be see on Mod:Weapons. We did apply a fix to the Mod namespace after doing the rebuild, so maybe that had something to do with it. We could just run the rebuild again and hope this was an unintended side effect of the fix or the problem it solved.
But I think with the small number of weapons, I'd like to just remove the #sets. There isn't all that much work saved automating the Mod:Weapons page, and using the subst: feature, changing it a manually-edited table could be done pretty quickly. I could then run a bot to move information from the #sets to the weapon boxes. I'm already going to run a bot tonight over the mod weapon pages to fix some issues I see, so I'll probably already have a head start if we have a consensus on this. — oOeyes 07:59, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
maybe we should change the design of the mod templates to that of the SA templates anyway (or even merge some of the templates). ive never been a fan of these automatic features, so i'm all for removing the #set function. i wanted to clean up the mod pages anyway in the next weeks.--TheBlackDracula (talk)
- I'll plan on doing this over the weekend if there are no objections before I begin, then. — oOeyes 19:21, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
- The #sets have all been removed with the values transferred to the actual Weapon Box templates. The Mod:Weapons page is no longer automated. I decided for now to leave the intermediate templates, like Template:WeaponQueryTableRow in place because it might make the intended redesign easier. (You can maybe just change the templates instead.) If you'd prefer, though, I can set those up for substitution and get those out of there as well. — oOeyes 11:13, 23 February 2015 (UTC)
- I think I accidentally posted the previous message with my bot flag left on, so just bumping this to make sure notifications are sent. x_x — oOeyes 17:54, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
