The Disinfectant Spray is a medical disinfectant in DayZ. The Disinfectant Spray is used to disinfect wound treating items and to cure a stage 1 Wound Infection.
Two Disinfectant Spray can be combined to pour their contents from one bottle to another.
Disinfection[]
Disinfectant Spray can be combined with bandages, rags, sewing kits, bandanas, and shemaghs to disinfect them, making them safe for treating bleeding wounds.
Disinfectant Spray can also be used directly on a survivors' wounds to cure a stage 1 Wound Infection or to prevent it before bandaging an actively bleeding wound. The disinfecting effect will stay active for 1 minute and 40 seconds, during which it will prevent all wound infections.
It's also possible to wash survivor's bloody hands with Disinfectant Spray.
All disinfection methods will consume 75 mL (15%) of the contents, so one full spray bottle can be used 7 times.
Trivia[]
- By mixing it with water, it used to be possible to create Diluted Disinfectant Spray which was useful as a pesticide in horticulture.
