The Fish Net Trap is a type of equipment in DayZ.

This trap can be placed into any body of water using the corresponding action when the item is in your hands. The Fish Net Trap can be used to obtain either Mackerel in salt water or Carp in fresh water. If you use the trap on its own you have a 15% chance to catch a fish but if you put Earthworm in the trap you will have a 85% chance to catch a fish. It will take anywhere from 15-25 minutes before your trap will be triggered and you need to be at least 25 meters away from the trap. Each time you use your trap its condition will be reduced by one step (e.g from pristine to worn) meaning you can receive a maximum of 4 fish per trap.
The Fish Net Trap will despawn after 8 hours if not picked up and the fish you catch will despawn in 4 hours.
