The IV Saline Bag is a medical item in DayZ that is not usually found in complete form. Instead, it is usually created by a player when combining a Saline Bag and an IV Start Kit. A saline injection is compatible with all blood types and it boosts the recipient's blood regeneration for three minutes, resulting in 500 ml of replenished blood. It also restores player's water stat by 350 ml, further aiding in blood regeneration and combating dehydration. While blood transfusions also provide blood, saline is a much safer method since you don't need to worry about blood types.
To use this item, place the Saline Bag IV into your hands and use it on either yourself, or another player via the bound action key (default: "F" on keyboard, "R2" on Playstation and "RB" on XboX). Both players must stay still, or else the action will be cancelled.

- Because a IV Saline Bag restores water without filling the stomach stat, this lets you eat a very filling food item immediately after using an IV Saline Bag instead of having to wait on any fluid you have consumed that raised your stomach stat. Making it possible to recover large quantities of Blood, Water, and Energy all at the same time.
