Jeans are key not only for protection from the various zombies and animals in the world of Day Z, they are important in protecting against the omnipresent and dangerous temperature conditions than can quickly make even the most ardent Survivors die in short order.
Denim trousers, also known as jeans, are a type of casual clothing made popular in the 1950s. Able to withstand rough handling, these jeans are DayZ certified.

Basis
Jeans are a common article of clothing in most western cultures. Despite looking cool, they lack utility and hang on to moisture for far too long. They are typically the default spawn item in DayZ, but should be abandoned for better alternatives as soon as possible.
