The Longhorn is a break action, long range pistol. It is loud and needs to be reloaded after each shot, making it unsuitable for close range personal protection.
Overview[]
The Longhorn is a single-shot handgun chambered for .308 WIN Rounds.
It performs very well at short-to-medium distances, and is a good option to have in combination with a close-range weapon such as a shotgun or a submachine gun. Despite being the largest pistol currently available, taking up 10 inventory slots, it can still be placed inside a Holster or a Chest Holster.
Due to being chambered for a full-power cartridge, it delivers the most damage per shot out of any pistol in the game, capable of killing an unarmored player in one shot at nearly 90 meters of range.
The single-shot capacity is a tradeoff for this immense stopping power.
The Longhorn commonly spawns with a Pistol Scope attached.

Trivia[]
- The Longhorn is based on the Thompson/Center Encore, a break-action single-shot pistol produced by Thompson/Center Arms. It was offered through various retailers and dealers chambered in dozens of calibers.
- The Longhorn was added to the game in the 0.47 update.
- Until 0.55, the Longhorn was chambered in 7.62x51mm, which was replaced in the game by .308 and 7.62x54mmR.
- Since the 0.57 update, it's possible to detach the Pistol Scope, and also to attach the Crossbow Holosight or use the gun without any optics at all.
- The Longhorn was re-implemented in the 1.17 Experimental Patch.
