M4-A1 is a type of weapon in DayZ Standalone.
The M4 carbine is a family of firearms that was derived from earlier carbine versions of the M16 rifle, which was in turn derived from the original AR-15 rifle that Eugene Stoner designed and ArmaLite made. The M4 is a shorter and lighter variant of the M16A2 assault rifle, with 80% parts commonality. It is a common military weapon which can be found in military installations and buildings throughout Chernarus.
The M4A1 employs the use of 5.56 NATO ammunition.
Parts
The M4A1 can have several purpose-built parts attached to it to allow for more flexible use, below is a list of usable parts.
Buttstocks

A lighter buttstock for more efficient CQB. Has slightly increased dispersion, but makes the weapon easier to handle.

*Rail Integration System (RIS)
An M4A1 handguard that provides a base for the rail based attachment system. it provides 4 pica-tinny rails for mounting lights, lasers, bipods, grips and optics. Enables use of Weapon Flashlight when equipped.

A MAGPUL handguard for the M4, comes in Olive or Black color variations.

Carryhandle Optics

A basic iron sight carryhandle optics that comes with every M4A1.
*BUIS/Back-up Iron Sights
A basic iron sight for the M4, similar to the carry handle but of a smaller size.
*T3N RDS Optics
Sight for firearms that gives the user an aimpoint in the form of an illuminated red dot
*ACOG Optics

Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight with 4x magnification level. Attachable to any weapon with a standardized rail system. Factory default zeroed to 100m and manually adjustable to 700m.
Illumination
Weapon Flashlight
A universal flashlight attachable to most weapons to provide tactical advantage. Requires an RIS for attachment.
Suppressor
556 Suppressor
An attachment for the barrel of a firearm which reduces the amount of noise generated by firing the weapon. This variant is designed specifically for 5.56mm caliber.
Bipod
M4 ATLAS Bipod

This bipod provides solid support for longer range engagements, will allow for greater weapon accuracy when deployed and user is at a prone stance.
