A View of Tisy S.A.M. and Radar Base

Tisy S.A.M. and Radar Base is a large military base found atop Vidy in the far northwest corner of the map. Given its position along the Black Mountains, it also qualifies as a border base next door to the Russian Federation, as can be seen from several maps of Chernarus. There is also a local lake known as Lake Glubokoe which was used by the local villagers and Chernarussian Defence Forces.

General

The base was the recent home to the CDF where the AN and CDF had their final stand before most likely being overrun by Infected or any other causes that may have killed off the military personnel. The base was constructed during the times of the Soviet Union (USSR) when Chernarus was a part of the USSR as a Soviet surface to air missile & radar base during the heights of the Cold War.[1] It contains various radar equipment, underground bunkers and a radar building used by the Soviets to counter any foreign missiles.

The facility consists of several different jointed areas, including a main courtyard with a Commissar Statue of the rogue Soviet general known as Aleksei Vasilii Guba, a long distance firing range, prison facilities, and mechanical operations.

Trivia

  • Tisy is based off of a real life surface to air missile & radar base built by the Communist Czechoslovakian government during the Cold War. It had missiles that would launch from the complex as well as bring down incoming missiles from the opposing western countries.
  • The base's name in the real world is "Dobříš" or known by its nickname "Klondike."[2]
  • Nearby in the woods is a concrete foundation with a pit in the center, full of dead bodies.
