The Glock is a handgun developed by Glock Ges.m.b.H, also known as GLOCK. It is one of the most common and popular handguns in the world. The full-size 9mm Glock 17 (G17) is featured in DayZ.

The G17 is a relatively common military sidearm. This particular model features a tan frame. Chambered in 9mm, the Glock 17 has very low power. At only ~1389 blood per hit, it can take almost an entire magazine to kill a player, depending on their health. It also usually takes 2 or 3 hits to kill a zombie. Thus, the G17 is most effective when used for headshots. Though it has low power, the Glock does have a fairly high magazine capacity.
Ammunition for the G17 is fairly common, though as of the 1.8.6.1 update it can only use G17 magazines.
As a pistol, the Glock 17 is fairly easy to use indoors, and when fitted with a Suppressor, It arguably makes the finest Zombie-killing weapon in the game. It is also very useful at night when the Pistol Flashlight is attached, Though it must be noted that the flashlight is visible to other players from well over a Kilometer away.
Its front sight post is fairly large, making it rather difficult to use at longer ranges. The weapon isn't very good for killing players unless you can get a head shot, but is a good, quiet backup weapon for taking on zombies. With its low recoil, the player can make fast followup shots fairly easily. It is unlikely that zombies will react to the gun being fired, unless they are relatively close. The audible range for players is similar to that of the Makarov PM.
