The M203 Flare is a M203 round that when fired high into the air releases a parachute flare that will light up the countryside in a very, very large radius creating a "midnight sun" that allows great visibility at night. As this flare is affected by gravity it will slowly drop creating 30 seconds or more (depending on the height reached) of light before hitting the ground and immediately extinguishing. This flare also has little affect on night vision unless the operator looks directly at the flare and even then the effect can be considered negligible. Appears in either white or green varieties.
It can be considered very useful and worth to loot if you or someone else has an M203. The flares may be used to signal to other players, especially those in vehicles. Keep in mind that not only friendlies can see them!
