Bloodsuckers are, obviously, blood-sucking monsters that can only be encountered at certain DayZ Mod:Namalsk servers, as well as at the Namalsk Crisis campaign itself. They have a chance of dropping one blood bag when killed.
An important thing to know is that bloodsuckers are invisible by default and you can only see them when they approach about three meters close to you. The only part of bloodsucker's body that is always visible are it's eyes. They glow red at night and are hard to see at daytime. You can also detect this creature by listening to it's groans.
When a bloodsucker attacks you, your vision becomes blurred, you movement is slowed and you become unable to shoot for a few seconds. It does direct damage without causing blood loss or infection. (needs testing)
Unlike Mod:zombies, bloodsuckers always move at the same speed, and do not slow down inside buildings.
The best strategy to survive this creature's encounter is to not let it get close and stun you, always running, shooting and reloading on the move. Bloodsucker has slightly more blood than a player, so even a heavy machinegun will not make the fight easy.
Bloodsucker originally appears in the game STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.
