The UK-59 is a Czech General-Purpose Machinegun designed in 1959. It fires the same 7.62x54mmR round as the PKM, but feeds from different, 50-Round belts. It was added in the 1.8.7 Update.
Overview[ | ]
The UK-59 is nearly identical performance-wise to the PKM, But is less suited to the sustained-fire role due to it's smaller 50-round belts. It is still an effective weapon, however.
Like all Machineguns, the UK-59 is fitted with a Bipod which radically reduces recoil and sway while prone.
Like all General-Purpose Machineguns in DayZ, the UK-59 does 8000 damage per round and is more than capable of hitting targets up to 800m.
Ammunition[ | ]
The UK-59 Feeds from 50Rnd. UK-59 Belts, which can be found in all Military locations, and in Russian Ammo Boxes
