Overview[]
The NBC Respirator is a type of protective mask in DayZ.
To actively protect the wearer from Gas Poisoning in Contaminated Zones, it needs a Gas Mask Filter or Improvised Gas Mask Filter. Even without, it is still a very good face mask by itself due to low absorbency and high insulation. The NBC Respirator also prevents survivors from catching or spreading the Common Cold through [[Sneezing}} and Coughing.
The mask narrows your field of vision slightly and prevents eating, drinking and taking pills. Wearing a gas mask with a non-empty filter also slows down stamina regeneration and increases its drain rate.
