Note: this page covers the Standalone version of DayZ; for information on the Mod, see Mod:Nizhnoye. A small coastal village, Nizhnee is located between Solnechny and Berezino in the east.
General[]
Nizhnee is more notable for being a waypoint than a destination unto itself. It is one of several spawn points for new characters on the eastern coast, but most players who start here either head north to Berezino or south past Cape Krutoy to Kamyshovo and eventually Elektrozavodsk.
Despite its small size Nizhnee includes a number of dynamic events and vehicles spawns, such as the Abandoned 742 Train and Abandoned Police Olga near the level crossing, and numerous Rubber Boat spawns along the coast. The town center contains a Pub, a Church and a General Store that together offer a good collection of basic supplies for fresh spawns.
Food & Survival[]
There is an all-important water pump in the middle of the village, and two adjacent apple orchards that can be used for sustenance in a dire situation.
The treeless hillside west of town is riddled with wildlife such as hares, foxes and boars, and the small cape and boathouse next to the pier offers good visual cover for survivors resorting to fishing.
If the town is occupied or under active combat, the hill forest directly south-west has multiple apple and plum trees that can provide fruit and a safe hiding spot to wait out the situation.
[]
Nizhnee is perhaps one of the easiest locations to identify quickly after spawning. The main road runs side-by side with a railroad, and a small but steep hill separates the two from the buildings on top. A stone bridge with a pavement underpass is the entry into town, and the scene does not appear anywhere else on the coast.
Travelling roughly 300 meters directly away from the coast will bring survivors to a set of powerlines. Following these lines north (sea on your right) leads through Berezino, and ultimately to Krasnostav Airfield which contains ample medical supplies. Following the lines south (sea on your left) forms a route inland through Orlovets, Polyana and Gorka, providing numerous fresh water sources and basic supplies.
For travel by boat, heading directly north you can quickly reach the Rify shipwreck and Svetloyarsk - and heading south, the island of Skalisty.

- The layout of the village was changed in the 1.17 update; below are images of the previous layout that survived from release to 1.16:
