The Orienteering Compass, like the regular compass, is a navigational aid used to tell the cardinal direction of the operator.

To use the orienteering compass is a compass in DayZ Standalone. The compass; as of 1.20, points the direction you were facing when returning it to your hotbar. For accurate direction you must equip the compass to your hands.
Trivia[ | ]
- For a while, the orienteering compass was only very rarely obtained as a bonus through eating a box of Crunchin Crisps Cereal, but was reintroduced as a rare loot spawn in 0.61.
