The Small Fish Trap is a type of equipment in DayZ. It is used to catch small fish like sardines, bitterlings and shrimp.
General[]
This trap can be placed into any body of water using the corresponding action when the item is in your hands. The small fish trap can be used to obtain either sardines in salt water or bitterlings in fresh water. If you use the trap on its own you have a 15% chance to catch a fish but if you put an earthworm in the trap you will have a 85% chance to catch a fish. It will take anywhere from 15-25 minutes before your trap will be triggered and you need to be at least 25 meters away from the trap. Each time you use your trap its condition will be reduced by one step (e.g. from pristine to worn) meaning you can receive a maximum of 4 fish per trap.
The Small Fish Trap will despawn after 8 hours if not picked up and the fish you catch will despawn in 4 hours.
