Primitive wooden Splint . Helps hold the broken bone in place, allowing for relatively painless movement. The leg itself will still take some time to heal though. — In-game description

The Splint is a medical item in DayZ. When breaking a limb through a fall or a gunshot the player will gain continiously shock damage while walking. This results in going unconscious when moving too much. However with an applied splint the player will be able to jog without receiving shock damage. The applied splint will prevent the injured survivor from sprinting and jumping, climbing is still possible.

Application

When a survivor has a broken limb, an appropriate symbol will appear in the player's status bar. To apply a Splint the player must take it into their hands and hold down the (PC Default: Left mouse button) for approximately 10 seconds. The character will then have a visual splint on their left leg. As this is a continuous action, interrupting will result in an abort of the action.

Detail : rags/bandages must be clean and full. 5 min later, The break is healed and the splint disappear.
