Hardware[ | ]

This section will cover any physical components involved in playing DayZ. Here, you'll find information about display compatibility, input devices, SLI, and more.

Display[ | ]

In theory, there should be enough adaptability in your operating system, video card drivers, etc. to account for practically any display you might want to use with DayZ. Native support for your specific resolution will result in the best experience however, and below you will find a list of those that have been tested and confirmed to work properly. Note that the game will only display resolution options in the settings menu that will fit your display's aspect ratio.

The number of displays that DayZ can be "stretched" to is also only limited by the machine that is running it. The operating system, video card drivers, and the video card(s) all need to be able to manage and push those pixels however. Considerations include what type and how many video ports you have available, how powerful your CPU & GPU(s) are, the resolution of each monitor, etc.

The game's video settings include options for V-sync, and also support the ability to use Windowed Mode. If Windowed Mode is enabled, the combination of Ctrl+Alt+↵ Enter can be used to switch to Borderless Windowed Mode.

Some non-standard display settings are accessible through editing the configuration files (see below).

Operating System[ | ]

DayZ Standalone is currently only compatible with the Microsoft Windows operating system, and cannot be run natively on any other platform. Some users may be comfortable enough with their skills to utilize emulation or dual booting in order to use Windows where it is not the primary installed operating system, but it is still necessary in some way in order to run the game.

Moreover, DayZ currently only supports DirectX 11, and support for DirectX 9 was dropped entirely with the 0.60 update. This means that older versions of Windows which are not compatible with DX11 are unable to run DayZ either.
