Train Wagons are clusters of vehicle wrecks found in DayZ.
General[]
Different variants of the Train Wagon can be found in train stations, industrial areas and dynamic train events in Chernarus and Livonia.
Variants[]
Some variants can be entered and spawn loot inside the wagon, some are static and spawn loot on the ground surrounding the wreck. There are three main wagon types - the boxcar, the flatbed, and the tanker. Additionally, each type has civilian variant (monochrome or plain wood) a military variant (painted in classic camo). The loot deviation between the civilian and military variants is similar to civilian cargo containers versus military containers.
Boxcar[]
An enclosed freight train wagon designed to transport goods that need protection from weather and theft. Rests on two sets of bogies, each with two wheels and features thick wooden planks reinforced with steel bracing and a metal underframe. It has large sliding doors on both sides, and can be entered by survivors.
Flatbed[]
An open freight train car designed for transporting heavy or oversized loads that do not require enclosure. The wagon is mounted on two sets of bogies, four wheels each for stability and weight distribution. Built with a strong metal frame and a reinforced steel deck, it is commonly loaded with shipping containers or military containers. Lacking walls or a roof, can be entered from any side but offers no protection (except elevation to escape wildlife and infected). Some flatbed wagons have contain barrels or plank piles in addition to normal loot spawned by the containers.
Tanker[]
Cylindrical freight train car designed for transporting liquids, gases, or chemicals in bulk. Constructed from reinforced steel or aluminum, it features tank mounted on a metal frame with two sets of bogies for stability. Access hatches and discharge valves are located on the top of the tanker wagon, but cannot be interacted with, and as a result the wagon can not be entered.
Trivia[]
- In late 2023, there was a 10 year anniversary mod that lets you connect and find trains if you are lucky. It can be found scattered across the map.
