Unknown Food Can is a food item in DayZ.
All Unknown Food Cans contain Food Poisoning agents which can cause the survivor to become ill when consumed in large quantities in a short period of time. Having a strong immune system or using any medication does not decrease the chances of getting sick. However, the poison in the can acts much slower than something like Gasoline, and the status effect clears on its own. This means that the cans are safe to eat in small portions at a time. [1]. Despite sickness icon, there will be no harmful effects with this small dose.

- ↑ An easy method of safe consumption: eat only about 3-4 bites from the can and wait until the arrows on both your food AND water go down before eating more. Continue to eat in small doses of 3-4 bites until the can is empty and you will not get sick.
